Find my iPad/iPhone

With the release of the new iPad version of Console’s Live Agent Inspect Application I’m sure most of you are now ready to get out in the field and start using your Ipads!

However before you do, make sure you use this tip as soon as you get you iPad up and running: “FIND MY IPAD”…. just incase it gets misplaced, stolen or lost.

See what you’re missing.

Don’t panic. If one of your Apple devices goes missing, iCloud can help you figure out where it is. Just sign in at iCloud.com or use the Find My iPhone app to see your missing iPhone, iPad, iPod touch or Mac on a map. And with the Lost Mode feature you don’t just see where your device is, you can track where it’s been. That way you can decide on your best course of action. You can immediately lock your device and send it a message with a contact number. Then whoever finds it can call you from the Lock screen without accessing the rest of the information on your device.

JUST 4 EASY STEPS
Step 1. Create an iCloud account: Click Here and follow the instructions

Step 2. Go to the Apps Store and install the FREE APP: Click Here

Step 3. Log in using your Itunes username & password – click into the info icon

Step 4. Your iPhone will now sound an ALARM so you can locate it. Note that in the Devices area of this app you can also add your PC, iMac, iPad etc….
Activation Lock
iOS 7 includes a new feature called Activation Lock, which makes it more difficult for anyone to use or sell your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch once it’s gone missing or has been stolen. And it starts working the moment you turn on Find My iPhone in iOS 7. Turning off Find My iPhone or erasing your device requires your Apple ID and password. And your Apple ID and password are required before anyone can reactivate it.

Remote Erase
Sometimes it’s better to be safe than sorry. If you’re worried that your device has fallen into the wrong hands, you may want to initiate a remote wipe to delete your personal data and restore your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch or Mac to its factory settings. With iOS 7, Find My iPhone can continue to display your customised message, even after your device has been erased. And if you do retrieve your device, you can restore it from your iCloud backup.

I hope you find this tip very useful – I’ve had to use it twice…… saved me hours of stressing and time trying to remember where I left my iPad. Tiffany Bowtell
